Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” which was launched to make India clean, seems to have failed in Rajouri as heaps of garbage can be seen in several areas of the town and the concerned authorities least bothered.
The heaps of garbage can be seen in several localities of rajouri even as the banners encouraging people to participate wholeheartedly in the “Swachh Bharat” campaign are there on the walls.

Matter of great shock that the local leaders are only interested in on media Swach Bharat and never come forward for improving the hygienic and sanitation aspects of the area .Even this is most depressing that MC Rajouri is also in deep slumber and it's Chairman has failed in reviewing and the reviving the sanitation status of the locality.
Although, initially several programmes and awareness campaigns were launched in district Rajouri by bureaucrats, politicians and Municipal Committee but with passage of time the cleanliness appears nowhere.
Garbage problem remains a cause of concern for residents of rajouri town and other adjoining area.
The residents of Rajouri town said that their area falls within the jurisdiction of Municipality but the officers are least bothered about cleanliness despite the matter being brought to their notice several times.
